Caffi Nini is a relaxed, community-oriented café located on Pontardulais Road in Penllergaer, nestled within the grounds of an animal care centre. It’s a spot where locals and visitors alike come for a straightforward but satisfying coffee and cake break, with an emphasis on supporting the animals nearby.

The café’s setting gives it a rural, unhurried feel—ideal for those looking for a quiet moment away from the busier parts of Swansea. Outdoor seating is available, making it a nice place to visit on mild days, especially if you’re accompanied by children or dogs, both welcomed here with little fuss. The adjacent park is a notable draw for families, featuring play areas and a small pavilion offering preloved children’s books and toys—a detail that adds a thoughtful local touch to visits.

Inside, the atmosphere is casual and accessible, with ample parking that includes easy access for wheelchair users. The staff come across as friendly and attentive without being intrusive, which makes the café a comfortable place to linger, whether you’re catching up with friends or taking a break during a walk.

On the menu, the focus is on coffee and homemade cakes. Locals mention the quality of the cappuccinos and the fresh, satisfying scones—perfect for an afternoon treat. While the food selection is modest, it suits the café’s role as a light stop rather than a full dining destination. Free WiFi means it can also serve as an informal workspace for those wanting to settle for a while.

Caffi Nini is best suited for anyone looking for a calm, welcoming spot with a gentle countryside vibe. Families with young children, dog walkers, and those connected to the local community or the animal centre itself find it especially fitting. Weekday afternoons or weekends with dry weather offer the most pleasant conditions to enjoy both the café and the outdoor space.

Absolutely beautiful new cafe, excellent service, very nice coffee and cake with the wonderful feeling of knowing the money spent helps to care for the animals. Great little park opposite which my son loved, including a little enclosed pavilion selling preloved children's books and toys (pay a donation at reception). Can't wait to come back!

Great cafe on the RSPCA site. Ample free parking, easy access for wheelchair users. Outdoor and inside seating and a park for children. Plenty of choice on the menu made fresh and delicious home made cakes. Free WiFi and great customer service from the staff.

We are lucky enough to have the cafe at walking distance and we love it! They have great play areas for kids and amazing cakes. Today we had a cheesy scone that was 10/10!

Lovely rural setting. Good food and great coffee. Very dog friendly, which is not a surprise as it's on the same grounds as Llys Nini. Easy parking on asphalt surface.

Met friends for a coffee on a Saturday morning, get there early as it gets very busy here, friendly staff, food looked lush, but didn't have anything, but will return and try something.

A lovely cafe with very friendly and welcoming staff. It's lovely and light, and the plants along the building make a difference, to brighten the area from the car park. Some things are quite expensive compared to other community/charity run cafes but a nice place to visit now and again.

Stopped here on route for a quick luck and too let our toddler run around - it was perfect. Great food, nice play area for a quick play and some walks (which we will try next time). Would stop here over a services every time!
